Wal-Mart     Wal-Mart executives continue to function under the philosophy that Sam Walton developed. Walton was a people person by nature and he  in truth cared about his employees. He believed in three guiding principles: 1.  node value and service; 2. Partnership with its associates; 3. Community involvement (The   romance of Wal-Mart, 1995).   Sam Walton believed that   node satisfaction is the key for building a successful business. Walton believed that  guests should feel valued by the company. Walton also believed that the  customer was always right and he encouraged this philosophy in  both of his stores. Walton has been quoted as saying, It has to do with our desire to exceed our customers expectations  all hour of every day (Wal-Mart    Annual Report, 1994, p. 5).
